Demand for Tech Jobs Surge Despite AI Development

Since 2022, technologies like artificial intelligence and machines have seen exponential growth. These systems are often touted as replacements for tech jobs by automating the process. Despite that, the demand for workers in the tech industry continues to hold steady and grow.

Some jobs in the sector have seen considerable demand, particularly regarding engineers and outsourcing executives. These places have seen their demands increase by 433% and 314% respectively. This shows the resiliency of these areas.

Changes in the Requirements of Tech Jobs

Rather than showing a slowdown of these technological adoptions, they highlight a continued expansion. These two roles, though different are what are driving employment growth and bring up skills on opposite ends of the spectrum.

One is all technological, requiring expertise in this new technology and automation. This is given with the task of ensuring that AI works as efficiently, providing a faster turnaround time that requires less personnel to handle.

On the other side, you have a more traditional job that requires outsourcing tasks and finding more experts to handle them. This is the opposite of what AI hopes to achieve. Not only do outsourcing experts need to find people, but they also need to find the right people who can handle jobs, and clients, and handle different tools.

Other Careers in Tech Jobs

These two tech jobs represent the extremes of the industry, but there are still many possible jobs available in between. The same reports show that careers like receptionists, travel consultants, and electricians also show healthy growth.

This represents a diverse range of careers, skills, and laces where people can enter the tech sector. Receptionists alone have shown a 310% growth in the same period while experienced travel consultants enjoy a 285% rise, a huge bounce from pandemic levels. 

These jobs show that substantial growth is still happening among tech jobs for the foreseeable future. Even as AI develops, it cannot take the place of actual workers who still have their role to play.

Lastly, some other jobs that will still see considerable demand are construction and sanitation work to handle the maintenance of offices and servers which posted 160% and 121% respectively.
