Uzbekistan BPOs Try to Gain Global Prominence

Uzbekistan is set to become the latest player in the BPO industry with the establishment of multiple Uzbekistan BPOs in the heart of Central Asia. These will offer different IT services across the world and allow them to provide a new source of services.

This is all part of Uzbekistan’s attempt at economic liberation to attract more foreign investors into the company. BPOs are among the most desirable investments known and Uzbekistan offers a strategic location thanks to its excellent time zone, young population, and educated populace.

Uzbekistan BPOs Trying to Woo Investors

Uzbekistan BPOs have gone to great lengths to appeal to foreign investors, highlighting some of the advantages of working with them. Among them are the current economic reforms, low inflation, stable currency, and cheap internet.

Among these reforms is the simplification of opening up businesses in the country, allowing Uzbekistan BPOs to spring up across the country. This comes as a result of steady reforms, allowing the country to rank 8th in ease of starting a business. Not only that, but they also rank high in protecting investors.

Aside from economic reforms, the government is also working to modernize infrastructure. They have invested heavily in modernizing digital services and their unified portal provides more than 700 types of online services to help regular citizens. Outside of that, they have also improved internet access across the country, now providing wifi services to 99% of all citizens. Not only is the internet widespread, its cheap, coming at $0.30 per GB, ranking it at 43rd out of 179 countries. The average plan is $24.20 per GB per month.

Aside from the infrastructure and economy, the other advantage of Uzbekistan is its population. They boast a working population of 21 million under 30. Many of these workers have experience in IT services with more than 125,000 new IT specialists graduating gradually. This gives Uzbekistan BPOs access to a large pool of experts. Alongside their IT expertise, many of these people are also fluent in languages like English, German, French, Russian, Japanese, and Arabic. This is similar to Philippine BPOs which boast many similar advantages.

Uzbekistan to Step Up IT Park

One of the biggest projects anticipated by Uzbekistan BPOs is the establishment of IT Park, an ambitious infreastesturcue project to create a physical IT hub. This economic zone will provide many business incentives for investors to set up shop there by minimizing the risk and providing perks to companies that open there.

Among these perks are providing temporary free office space, and equipping offices with furniture.  There will also be other financial benefits and cashback to businesses there. They are even providing IT vias to foreign experts who want to work here.

This is part of the launch of the “Enterprise Uzbekistan” International Digital Technologies Center, a special economic zone that has been designed based on the success of similar zones across the world.

Lastly, Uzbekistan BPOs have partnered with DataVolt to establish green data centers across the country. So far three are set to be established which can be leased out to investors and will be powered by renewables.

The government has already begun assisting new Uzbek startups to start gathering investments.

How Can BPOs Benefit from Uzbekistan BPOs

As Uzbekistan BPOs establish their presence, other global BPO providers should pay close attention to the developments here. The country has shown they are eager to find its place in the market and has all the ingredients to become a major BPO service. They have not just encouraged investment but enacted attractive policies to woo investors.

Other groups like investors or fellow BPOs should monitor their success to determine whether or not similar policies should be placed in their service. Things like financial incentives, cashback, and making it easier to set up.

This is an opportunity as it can allow BPO players to share knowledge. New players can provide new strategies that can be used, allowing the industry as a whole to continue their developments and provide the most efficient services.
